Words!

Reply to this meme by yelling WORDS and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them in your LJ and describe what they mean to you.

Blake's 7 - Blake's 7 is my favorite show probably for reasons that are almost too complicated to name. I'm a sucker for miserable endings (and B7 certainly has that). Complicated, unexplainable relationships that can never be summed up and will never be satisfactorily resolved by one event or another.  Cheesy special effects and campy acting but relatable inner turmoil that, at the end of the day, remain without an easy fix-it. who is good and bad, what is right and wrong, remains ambiguous and uncertain. I like that.

Cranky Irishmen - Well this is interesting! I do in fact like Irishmen, particularly ones that appear rather on the ornery side! I tend to lean toward the Irishmen with a decent amount of intellect, and as Oscar Wilde says, disobediance is a man's original virtue. To be satisfied is to bow down, so to speak, and to be unsatisfied means one must do what they can to change it. The Irishmen I tend to pick up for RP - the ones who fascinate me the most - are the ones that believe  Selfishness is not living as one wishes to live, it is asking others to live as one wishes to live. To be "cranky-" unsatisfied - is the only way to live if you see yourself among those who have injustice thrust upon them, and theres no reason one should not be noisy about it!. If you're a cranky Irishman of course....

Transition - oh, transition. Transition is a touchy subject for me. Difficult, because for a lot of people who've known me all my life, they think I'm trying to turn into something different, and for people who know me more recently -  I can't fathom what they imagine of me. But for me, honestly, for me transition is a period of time which I and those around me adjust to what I really am, to come to terms with who I've always been and who I will be. I will not sacrifice who I am for the stereotype. Simply because it is not "masculine" to enjoy musical theater, doesn't mean I am going to toss away my interest in theater. Fuck it! I enjoy musical theater, whether is masculine or feminine. This transition period is not a time that I'm changing from stereotypical female to stereotypical male - I was never either of those and I don't plan ever to be either of those - but a period of time which I will try to discover what it means to be me and hopefully help others understand that as well.

Puppies I freakin love puppies. I love animals. I like to take care of them. And baby ones really want to be taken care of. dawwww

New York New York New York... NYC is both the bane of my existance and the reason I am alive today. There is so much to NY that has created who I am, there is so much to do and so much to see and so many places to go. Its a sanctuary of sorts, where one can recreate themselves and find themselves and lose themselves and find themselves again.....and yet sometimes I wonder, maybe I am just some redneck who's meant to be in the country my whole life? I sort of live on the border of New York City and Central New York, and I don't know where I really belong.....or, more importantly, where I want to belong. We'll see, in time!

The problem with Livejournal is that we all think we are so close, but really, we know nothing about each other. Hence, I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don’t know about you.

Have at it. I'll answer pretty much anything.

Hey everyboddddy. Did you miss me?

Maybe so. Maybe not. Regardless, let me give you a little run down of whats been going on.

Jesus, its been so long since I've done a real update I don't even know what last I've told everyone. Well, at the end of April I had a screening, as well as a date. Both went well, though I sort of thought the date would have been a pleasant one nighter. I wasn't necessarily looking for anything more than that, to be honest. But! This girl got under my skin and so she hung around for the rest of my finals week/s. We spent the last few weeks together almost nonstop. Between her, finals, moving from the city...for the first time since, what. 2005, I stopped RPing for  several weeks straight.

It stressed me out though. to be honest. And now that I'm stuck here in hicktown again, I really need to get back into it, at least so I'm in the loop enough to be comfortable again. For the most part I'm dropping a lot of my pups, and the ones I'm keeping are pretty alienated from everyone for one reason or another....Which is also stressful, because that means I don't have a guaranteed "at least one thread at all times" that I've had since...2006. We'll have to see what I can do about that.

I'm a month late on getting my shots. Its really really starting to hurt me. My hormones are all screwed up, so is my appetite, I have constant cramps and mood swings and feelings of depression and alienation that comes only from one thing. I need my man-drug. Badly.

I've been watching a lot of shows lately, including Qi (Stephen Fry and Alan Davies w00t), Star Trek (original series mostly), Peep Show (Mitchell!) Blake's 7 (Travis 2 era), Jonathan Creek (more Davies). I'm behind with Doctor who. I havent seen the newest episode. I'm stressing out about the new season, as I usually do when theres a new doctor, but once I get into it again I'll forget why I was every anxious (I hope).

I've also been compulsively watching Monk (w00t) and listening to musicals. I have been very into theater, likely because Sarah (the girl) is a playwright and has sparked my interest in theater once again. May be good or bad for Val, as he had a bad experience with plays XD  I might inflict pain on him just to pleasure myself.

Anyway, miss you all. TALK TO ME. I command it.

Real Update Tiem Nao?

So anyway. For a quick, real update:

Sorry I havent been around. I nearly failed all my classes and I had to step away fromthe game to get my head back into it. But! I got:

Ways of Seeing Cinema: B
Film: B-
Video: B+
Yoga:B
Contemporary Issues in Video: B
Science and Society: D (Sucks, I liked that class, too. I wish I was science Minded. I love the idea of science. Apparently the practice, however, fails to happen for me)
Experimental Animation: B

So yes, I passed. FTW.

Also. one of the dates I went on actually went somewhere. Did Max get laid? Yes he did. But more importantly, I really LIKE her. A lot. I'm home now for the summer - I'll probably visit the city once and she will probably visit here once, but that aside I just can't help but be anxious. We have only been seeing each other a few weeks when break happened and therefore I can't help but think it'll go dead in the water. She's an actress/playwright, who went to two all women's colleges and doesn't mind me geeking out about old school british scifi and dinosaurs. Win. Also, we went to see the new Star Trek. I would rave about it, but it seems everyone on my FList already has so I'll spare you. Needless to say I loved it. I'm seeing it again on Wednesday.

So anyway, thats whats up with me. Sorry, RP people if I've been absent. I miss you all! I promiseI'll get back to it!

PS I have a twitter: http://twitter.com/MaxInTransition Not sure if I like it, but I have it. so...

1. Post about something that made you happy today.
2. Repeat for eight days.
3. Tag eight people to do the same.

First thing:
Its my birthday today. So far none of my family has remembered it but it should be an alright day.

I tag: anyone, idk if I have eight friends.

Also, Epic Nerdy Beatles Hyperbole.

Does anyone know Maria Falzone? She's a  sex ed person/comedian and she does the college performance circuit....anyway. I was just interviewed to be on her new DVD! How awesome is that? AND. I totally might have scored an internship. doubly rad.

I feel like sex education is so, so, so important and so I was glad to be a part of something so sex positive. I feel like the biggest problem with sex education and people NOT doing safer sex ISN'T that kids don't know about safe sex - kids know what condoms are - its rather that there's a shame associated with it. When one is already performing a shameful act, why stop it to ask to use protection? Sex positivity is the most important part of sex education. If a person realizes that sex is a positive thing, and to ready themselves for when they feel its most positive for them, its far more healthier than jumping in the sack because whether they do it now or ten years from now its still shameful.

Does that make sense?

I don't know.

But I feel good about this Falzone business. I want that DVD! lol

She was really good because she was really inclusive to EVERYONE, regardless of orientation. And by orientation I mean beyond just men or women, but monogamous, poly, kinky, vanilla, etc, etc etc. She even explained that penises/clitorises (clitori? Penii?) are essentially the same organ and that there really aren't men/women but people with clits and people with dicks.

I think I'm in love with her.
